<description>&#62; It does so by adopting the most common Unix shell-isms (a sign that MS does not have the NIH syndrome, at least in this particular case).

Absolutely! We are ONLY able to do what we do with PowerShell because we stand on the shoulders of the superstar engineers that came before us.

Our Unix influences (BASH, Perl) are very obvious but we also benefitted greatly from VMS DCL, AS400 CL and TCL. Hats off the the rockstars behind each of those. Bruce Payette, the dev lead of the language was very explicit about this in his book "PowerShell in Action" where he said something to the effect of: "We tried to invent as little as possible".

I'm glad you like what you've used so far. Wait till you see what is coming in our V2! I think you'll be shocked (delighted) by what you see. There is a Community Technology Preview (CTP) available now at http://www.microsoft.com/downloadS/details.aspx?familyid=60DEAC2B-975B-41E6-9FA0-C2FD6AA6BC89&#38;displaylang=en

Please let us know where you think we fell short or could do better. We like positive reviews but we LOVE to see the things that identify what we need to do to make it more useful to customers. You'll see a lot of customer feedback incorporated into our V2.
